Thomas A. Newnam is a highly regarded and much-exhibited Pennsylvania watercolorist who has been painting professionally for over twenty five years. He grew up with one foot in the Delaware and Chesapeake Bay regions and another in the rural colonial landscapes of southeastern and south central Pennsylvania. Tom has received recognition as a world class watercolorist, whose work is heavily influenced by many regional artists of the Brandywine Valley in the heart of Andrew Wyeth country. He has been a prominently featured artist at the Chadds Ford Gallery since 1989, and he exhibited in other regional galleries, such as the Garth Gallery in Columbia, Pennsylvania. For much of his career, Tom specialized in corporate commissions which allowed him to hone his watercolor skills with a wide variety of subjects.
Tom now resides in rural York County, where he divides his time between painting and volunteer work at a local horse farm that specializes in rescues. With his deep love and connection to the spirit and nature of the landscapes he has experienced, Tom excels at capturing the small, quiet, moments of life on the water, on the farm, and in nature. Stand quietly. Experience one of his paintings. You may be transported to a place or a moment in time that touches you on a soul level.
Tom is now able to offer his unique talent for select commissions. Whether it be a family home, a historic building, a favorite garden, or a place that warms the heart, a painting by T.A. Newnam can capture the spirit and significance of the subject in original watercolor.
